La Porte Jaycees Annual Fireworks to be Held on July 3 at La Porte County Fairgrounds
The La Porte Jaycees have proudly organized La Porte’s 4th of July festivities for over 70 years. Every year, the chapter helps to welcome over 60,000 of La Porte’s residents, neighbors and friends to the city for the 4th of July Parade.
Last year the Jaycees moved the annual fireworks display to July 3rd to better allow the community to attend this event, as well as other events in the region. This change was well received, and the Jaycees annual fireworks display will once again take place on July 3rd at the La Porte County Fairgrounds located at 2581 W State Road 2. Gates open for the fireworks at 6 PM and the fireworks start around 9:30 PM. Admission is only $5 for a car load or $1 a person for walk-in and food vendors will be available. Our 4th of July t-shirts will also be sold at the fireworks, while supplies last.
“The La Porte Jaycees are excited to host the region’s premier family-friendly 4th of July celebration for the 73rd year. We can’t wait to celebrate with our community and guests at the fireworks and parade! We would also like to especially thank our platinum sponsors, Horizon Bank and La Porte Hospital, for helping make these events possible,” said Jim Jozaitis, La Porte Jaycees Management Vice President.
The Jaycees are already planning for the 2020 4th of July celebrations and more information will be released soon. The La Porte Jaycees organization was founded in 1946 and has a mission to build the skills and networks of their young professional members through service to the community. Potential new members who believe that “Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life” are always sought.
